SD83 Farmer's Choice Box

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is in the box?

Every box will have potatoes, carrots, apples or pears, and onions. The rest of the vegetables will be a seasonal mix - garlic, cabbage, winter squash, pears, kale, leeks, etc.

What if I don't know how to cook something in my box?

We provide a print out in each box with simple and delicious recipes, and meal ideas so you can use up everything in your box each month. If there's something in your box you don't like, just share it with a friend, neighbour, or family member.

Do I have to sign up for the whole winter?

No, you can subscribe or order any month between December and June - it's up to you.

Where does the produce come from?

We prioritize sourcing all of the produce (and eggs) in your box will come from farms in the North Okanagan and Shuswap - especially small farms. You can check out our Farmer Profiles to learn more (coming soon!). In the depths of winter when sourcing from our region becomes difficult we will have to purchase some produce from elsewhere in BC, and we'll be let you know when we do that. On rare occasions we may need to stray beyond BC grown to ensure diversity and staples in the box, and we'll let you know when we do that.
