I was disappointed in that the vegetables were more store foods than local foods but they were still top quality

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for that feeback! Our December to March boxes were almost entirely local produce. However, from April to June each year the amount and variety of local fruits and vegetables available drops dramatically; some people call this the 'hunger gap'. We planned ahead and purchased as many crops from local farmers to keep in storage as possible to continue to provide you with as much diversity as possible. However, our storage crops are sold out now so we're now sourcing from further afield - across BC, and the USA when nessesary. We'll continue to be transparent about where our produce is coming from and prioritize the lowest food miles, but know that as soon as fresh local crops are back you'll see them in our boxes. Local asparagus is coming soon!

Quality veggies despite the quantity and difference from discription

Appreciate the discount, as there would not be enough veggies to feed my family for $40. In the description there was said to be pears, however there was none in the box and I don’t believe something else as a substitute.

Hi Linda! We did have to substitute the pears with addiitonal apples last week. You should have had 2lbs of apples in total, which would be 5-8 apples depending on their size. If you had less than that, please let us know and we'll be sure to remedy it.
