Not quality LOCAL produce!

First box was great, second had no eggs and the produce was from the states....definitely not local, not even canadian!!! Apples were all bruised and ended up in the garbage....very disappointed this time!

Hi Bex, I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed in this months box. Your apples should not have been bruised - we must have been too rough during delivery. I will send you an email with a credit/replacement option. As for the produce location, I understand your frustration with the content not being all local. We did have to source carrots and broccoli from the USA and onions from Manitoba in this month box. The rest of the produce was from BC or North Okanagan farms. We list the content of each box and where the produce is coming from on the order page each month. Our December to March boxes were almost entirely local produce. However, from April to June each year the amount and variety of local fruits and vegetables available drops dramatically; some people call this the 'hunger gap'. We planned ahead and purchased as many crops from local farmers to keep in storage as possible to continue to provide you with as much diversity as possible. However, our storage crops are sold out now so we're now sourcing from further afield - across BC, and the USA when nessesary. We'll continue to be transparent about where our produce is coming from and prioritize the lowest food miles, but know that as soon as fresh local crops are back you'll see them in our boxes. Local asparagus and radishes are coming soon!

Hello rutabaga !

We grated the rutabaga and baked with butter. Oh so good. Served with BBQ bison burgers and the spring salad. What a meal! 5 stars
