Madalea Growers is a family blueberry farm on Riverside Road in Mara, BC, just north of Enderby. The Stobbe family runs it. They are a multigenerational farm family with their roots in dairy.
From Fraser Valley dairy to Mara blueberries
The Stobbes have milked cows in the Fraser Valley since the 1950s. In 2014 they looked for a way to branch out and planted blueberries. Madalea Growers grew out of that choice.
The family has since moved to Mara, where they now grow their blueberries on Riverside Road.
Two kinds of blueberries
- Duke: The earliest to ripen, around July. Large, firm berries with classic blueberry flavour. Great for baking, canning, and freezing.
- Liberty: Ready in August and into September. The sweetest berry the farm grows, and a good one for every day.
More from the farm
Along with fresh berries, the farm sells frozen blueberries, blueberry jam, and sweet corn in season. Its blueberry juice is pasteurized and pressed from about 1 kg of blueberries per bottle, with nothing added.
Buying at the farm
Madalea sells direct through its own online shop. Order online, then pick up at the berry shed on the farm. Pickup hours change with the season, so check their website before you go.

Fresh blueberries come to Nature Delivered through the summer picking season. They are grown conventionally, not certified organic.
