Mayfair Farms is an independent nursery and market garden in the Hillcrest neighbourhood of Salmon Arm. It has been growing plants on 20th Avenue SE for about two decades.
Dee and Eric Landon took over the business in 2024 from longtime owners Sharon and Gene Bailey. Dee was working at Mayfair when the chance came up to buy it, and owning a plant business had long been her dream. Eric brings about ten years of cooking experience to the farm kitchen.
The customer greenhouse is full of bedding plants, hanging baskets, and custom planters, with a small gift shop inside. Other greenhouses grow tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, peppers, and eggplant.
They turn that produce into their own salsas, pepper jellies, and pickles, and they bake pies, breads, and butter tarts too. Their vegetables are grown with no spray, though the farm is not certified organic.
