Seedlings Fruit Stand is a family orchard and roadside stand on McCulloch Road in Southeast Kelowna. Mani runs it with his wife Kamal and his brother Jas. The family has grown fruit here since 2018.
Farmers from the South Okanagan
Mani and Jas grew up farming in Osoyoos. They brought that experience north when they planted their own orchards in Southeast Kelowna.
What they grow
The orchards grow more than 30 kinds of tree fruit, plus a few vegetables. The stand opens in summer and runs into the fall as each crop comes ripe.
- Cherries: Staccato, Sovereign, Sentennial, Sweetheart, Vans, Sylvia, Santina, Skeena, Cristalina, Kordia, Lapins, Rainier, and Danube sour cherries.
- Peaches: Early Redhaven, Redhaven, Glohaven, Suncrest, Red Globe, O'Henry, and White Lady.
- Apples: Gala, McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Ambrosia, Spartan, Fuji, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Red Delicious, and Hyslop crab apples.
- Pears: Bartlett, Anjou, and 20th Century Asian pears.
- More fruit: Nectarines, plums, and Purple Coronation table grapes.
- Vegetables: Red Russian garlic, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, and squash.
