Certified Organic Gold Beets — 2 lb

Mild, sweet and beautifully golden, these Certified Organic gold beets are grown by Shuswap Organics in Grindrod, BC.

They have the same firm texture and natural sweetness as red beets, but with a gentler, less earthy flavour—and one very practical bonus: they won’t stain everything they touch.

Sold in 2 lb bags, they’re easy to roast, slice, grate or keep on hand for salads and simple vegetable sides throughout the week.

Why You’ll Love Them

  • Certified Organic

  • Grown in Grindrod, BC

  • Mild, naturally sweet flavour

  • Less earthy than red beets

  • No red staining on cutting boards, hands or other ingredients

  • Excellent roasted, boiled or sliced raw

Great For

Roasting, salads, grain bowls, soups, pickling, slaws and sheet-pan dinners.

For an easy side, roast whole until tender, peel once cool enough to handle, then slice and toss with olive oil, vinegar and a little salt.

Storage

Store beets refrigerated in a bag or container in your crisper drawer.

If they arrive with tops attached, remove the greens before storing to help the roots keep longer.

Build Your Basket

Pair with carrots and potatoes for roasted root vegetables, or add greens, apples and goat cheese for an easy sweet-and-savoury salad.

Good to Know

Gold beets get their colour from a different mix of plant pigments than red beets, which is why they don’t bleed that intense red-purple colour into everything else on your plate.

They’re a great choice for beet-curious eaters who want the sweetness and texture of beets without quite as much earthiness.

How to Stretch This

Roast the whole 2 lb bag at once and refrigerate the extras. Cooked gold beets are easy to add to salads, grain bowls and lunches for several days.

If they start to soften, use them in soup, puree them into a dip, or pickle them rather than letting them go to waste.
