Great For
Salads, sandwiches, wraps, veggie trays, rice bowls, tzatziki, cucumber salad, sushi, quick pickles and snacking.
For a simple side, slice with a little salt, vinegar and fresh dill or herbs.
Storage
Keep refrigerated in the crisper drawer.
These cucumbers are individually wrapped in plastic, which helps reduce moisture loss and keeps them from drying out as quickly during storage.
Once cut, wrap or cover the exposed end and return the cucumber to the refrigerator.
Build Your Basket
Pair with tomatoes, red onion and feta for an easy Greek-style salad, or add yogurt, garlic and dill for homemade tzatziki.
Good to Know
Long English cucumbers are bred for thin skin, fewer noticeable seeds and a long, narrow shape, which makes them especially convenient for fresh eating.
The plastic wrap is there for a practical reason: cucumbers lose moisture quickly, and the wrap helps them stay firm and crisp longer while travelling from the greenhouse to your fridge.
How to Stretch This
If a cucumber starts to soften, don't toss it right away. Slice it and soak it in ice water for 20–30 minutes to help restore some of its crispness.
Softer cucumbers are also perfect for blended dips, chilled soups, tzatziki or quick refrigerator pickles.
