Great For
Everyday salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, tacos, grain bowls and lettuce cups.
Keep a few washed leaves ready in the fridge and you've got an easy way to add something fresh and crunchy to lunches throughout the week.
Storage
Keep lettuce refrigerated in the crisper drawer.
For the best keeping quality, keep the leaves dry. If you wash your lettuce ahead of time, dry it thoroughly before returning it to the fridge.
Build Your Basket
Add cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots for an easy everyday salad, or grab fresh herbs and your favourite cheese to make those greens a little more interesting.
Good to Know
Hydroponic growing means the plants are grown without soil, with their roots receiving the water and nutrients they need through a carefully managed growing system.
For us, one of the biggest benefits is simple: it gives our customers access to lettuce grown right here in the North Okanagan throughout the year, including the months when our outdoor fields are frozen or covered in snow.
How to Stretch This
Don't give up on lettuce just because it has started to wilt. Separate the leaves and soak them in very cold water for 10–20 minutes. Often, that's enough to bring back much of their crunch.
And if you've got more lettuce than you need for salad, try using the larger leaves as wraps for tacos, rice bowls or other fillings.

The hydroponic lettuce mix that we received was delicious! It made a beautiful salad. Love that it was locally grown.
I can't imagine eating any other lettuce ever again. This is truly magical lettuce! So delicate, so flavourful. Been eating this all winter. Love your greens! How blessed we are to have this grown local. Each head makes a remarkably substantial base for a full salad for each meal. Don't be fooled by the tiny root ball!
