Salmon Arm - Grown Sweet Onions - 2lbs
Mild, juicy and naturally sweet, these Salmon Arm BC-grown sweet onions are the onions to reach for when you want plenty of flavour without quite as much bite.
Their higher moisture content and mild flavour make them especially delicious raw in salads, sandwiches and burgers, but they're just as useful cooked—slice them into a stir-fry, roast them alongside other vegetables or slowly cook them until soft and caramelized.

Great For
Burgers, sandwiches, salads, salsa, tacos, grilling, roasting, stir-fries, sheet-pan dinners, soups and caramelized onions.
Try cutting one into thick rounds, brushing lightly with oil and grilling until tender and charred around the edges—a simple summer side that's especially good alongside burgers or sausages.
Storage
Sweet onions contain more moisture than traditional storage onions, so they generally won't keep as long.
Store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place for shorter-term use, or refrigerate to help them last longer. Keep them away from potatoes, which can cause both to spoil more quickly.
Build Your Basket
Add tomatoes and cucumbers for an easy summer salad, or grab potatoes, peppers and sausages for a simple sheet-pan dinner.
Good to Know
What makes a sweet onion taste milder isn't simply more sugar. Sweet onion varieties generally contain fewer of the pungent sulphur compounds responsible for the sharp bite—and watery eyes—we associate with stronger storage onions.
That milder flavour is why they're such a good choice whenever the onion is going into your meal raw.
How to Stretch This
Have an onion you need to use up? Slice it and cook it slowly until soft and deeply golden. Caramelized onions can transform burgers, sandwiches, eggs, pizza and pasta, and they freeze beautifully in small portions for future meals.
