Juicy conventional peaches grown at Seedlings Fruit Stand in Kelowna, BC. Their sweetness, fragrance and tender texture make them one of the best parts of Okanagan summer.
Great For
Snacking, fruit salads, yogurt, crisps, pies, grilling, salsa and preserving.
Build Your Basket
Pair peaches with blueberries and local yogurt for breakfast, or add fresh herbs and salad mix for an easy summer salad.
Storage
Let firm peaches ripen at room temperature. Once fragrant and slightly soft near the stem, refrigerate them and use them within a few days.
Good to Know
Peach varieties change throughout the season. Early peaches may cling to the pit, while later freestone varieties separate more easily.
From Emily
These peaches come from my friend Kamal and her family's orchard. Kamal and I met on our first day of orientation at UVic more than 20 years ago. Neither of us would have guessed that we would both eventually become farmers in the Okanagan, but through very different paths, here we are.
Peaches also bring back memories of visiting my grandma in the Okanagan. She always canned peach slices and served them with vanilla ice cream in winter. I love the idea of preserving that summer flavour, although the peaches at our house are usually eaten long before they ever make it into jars.
