Gai lan (often spelled Gailan or Kai-lan) is a leafy green vegetable widely used in Chinese cuisine. Also known as Chinese broccoli, it features thick stems, glossy, flat blue-green leaves, and small florets. It has a flavour that tastes like a sweet, slightly bitter cross between broccoli and kale.
